Search Engine Optimization

What Is SEO?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a set of practices designed to improve ranking and drive traffic to your website. Organic search results represent the most prominent way that people discover and access content on the internet, so optimizing your website for organic search results is key if you want to drive quality traffic to your website. To ensure that you get the most out of any SEO strategy, you will also need a comprehensive content marketing strategy .

Why is SEO important?

Organic search results are the natural, unpaid listings on your SERP that position based on the search engine’s algorithm. They’re different from paid ads in that they aren’t determined by bid amount, and they don’t show specifically relevant text associated with an ad. Organic results make up a large portion of most SERPs and are your first step toward earning user trust and attracting site visitors.

Search Engine Optimization

The algorithm Google uses to determine the merit of a website, also known as its Page Rank, is ingenious.

Each time you link to another site or publish original content on your own, the world’s most popular search engine adds a tiny amount of Page Rank to your domain name, creating an organic link back to you. If you consistently produce quality content, other sites will refer traffic back to yours and Google will rank you higher in the SERP, increasing the quality and quantity of traffic you get from them.

This is why Search Engine Optimization(SEO) is so important; following a proven Search Engine Optimization(SEO) strategy increases the number of visitors and leads you to see without paying anything extra!

Google’s search results are more relevant than ever before, thanks to the search engine giant’s efforts to provide users with more useful information before they click. While it used to be common for businesses to see huge spikes in traffic when they got onto the first page of Google, today these short-lived bursts of high-volume traffic have become less common. If you want long-term traffic growth, you need to ensure that your site is ranking highly enough for the most valuable and relevant keywords.

How does SEO work?

To understand how search engines and social media are different, you need to understand how they work. When search engines crawl and index web pages, tracking the value of keywords on each page and matching user queries, we should know very well that this story is a little different to the world of social media.

People post content, like articles or images, typically to an online newsfeed or profile. Websites can also post items to their own followers, which seem similar to how search engine results work. Social media sites don’t use keywords in the same way as search engines; however, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t optimize your social media profiles effectively.

Google crawls the Web to build a gigantic index that it uses to help people find things. Google’s index contains over trillions of words and pages from billions of sites and Google is constantly updating it. How does the algorithm know what you are looking for? It uses information from + The search box (keywords) + Pages you have previously visited + Pages that other people with similar interests tend to visit based on their online activity.
